2026 Lake County Commissioners Tax Sale

Parcels that did not sell at the Treasurer's tax sale are certified to the Lake County Board of Commissioners and offered at the Commissioners' Tax Sale. The information below covers registration, the sale schedule, and where to view the property listing for the 2026 Commissioners' sale.

Key Dates & Fees

Online Registration	February 4 – February 20, 2026, open 24 hours a day at onyxelectronics.com
In-Person Registration	February 4 – February 20, 2026, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Registration Fee	$600.00 to register — $100.00 non-refundable paddle fee plus $500.00 applied toward the minimum bid. In-person registration must be paid by cashier's check or money order made payable to the Lake County Treasurer.
Sale Dates	May 4 – May 7, 2026
Publication Dates	February 23, March 2, and March 9, 2026 (The Times, Post-Tribune, and the Gary Crusader)
