Public Works Department

Lake County Public Works Department is responsible to receive concerns from the public about flooding, poor storm drainage, maintenance of storm drainage systems or facilities, trees, woody vegetation, weeds, tall grass and unsafe building demolition. All public concerns received are processed thru the emergency reponse team for road flooding, drainage ditches, culverts, etc. They are given a case# and copies are faxed to all county departments that may have jurisdiction.

The three agencies reponsible for storm drainage are:

  • County Surveyor - all regulated drains and drainage board facilities
  • County Highway Department - all road r/w drainage and bridges
  • Public Works Department - all other storm drainage maintenance
