Recovery information and assistance for Lake County residents affected by the recent storms. FEMA and the Indiana Department of Homeland Security are operating rapid-intake centers to help residents with uninsured or underinsured home damage apply for FEMA assistance more quickly.

FEMA assistance is available regardless of citizenship status.

Lost Food in the Storm? Get Your SNAP Benefits Replaced

  • Who is eligible: Hoosiers who already receive SNAP benefits, lost food in the storms and/or flooding, and live in a county covered by the disaster declaration (Lake County is covered).
  • Deadline to apply: August 31, 2026
  • How: Get the form from the Indiana State Forms Portal, fill it out, then upload it at fssabenefits.in.gov, fax it to 888-436-9199, or drop it off at any Division of Family Resources office.
  • Need help with the form? Call 2-1-1 or visit any FSSA office.
